Adam Furgang has been creating art nearly all his life. He studied illustration at NYC's High School of Art & Design. He then went on to study illustration at the University of the Arts, where he graduated with a BA in Fine Arts in 1992.
After college, Adam worked primarily as a graphic designer. For a time he worked in SoHo for bathing suit designer, KEIKO. He also worked within the screen-printing industry for many years at the fashion company, Changes. There Adam worked on the computer to aid in the design, separation, and printing of T-Shirts for many licensed characters, brand names, and films. Eventually, after 6 years, Adam left Changes to seek new and more challenging work. He moved to the Manhattan-based web company, theglobe.com.
At theglobe.com, Adam designed the look and feel of the website, catalogs, brochures, and fliers. He also created many web-based pages, icons, and animations. Eventually, in 2001, theglobe.com went out of business. Afterwards, Adam began to freelance from home while raising his first son.
About eight years ago, Adam and his family relocated to the Capital Region. Here, Adam continued to freelance as a graphic designer. He has done graphic design, print, web design, and photography for The UAG, The College of Saint Rose, Albany Nanotech, Stewart's Shops, and numerous other businesses and charities.
Adam is currently freelancing with his wife, Kathy, as a writer. A few years ago they co-authored two educational books for young readers: Leonardo DiCaprio: Environmental Champion and On the Move: Green Transportation. Both books are now published and can be found on Amazon.com and other booksellers. Adam has recently written several new books on topics such as science, technology, nutrition and geography. He also writes the upcoming shows text blurbs for the UAG.
Adam served on the UAG Board for one year.
When Adam is not working, spending time with his family & friends, or watching films, he can usually be found creating his own art, photos, music, videos, or works of fiction. He lives with his wife, Kathy, and their two young sons.
