Carol Coogan is an artist/illustrator, designer, writer, & creator of the "Backyard Naturalist," a weekly Times Union newspaper column of the Capital District, NY.
"I have an intense urge to create and express myself in artistic styles that range from realistic to conceptual to experimental and abstract. I am inspired by nature; symbolism; spiritual, cultural, political & social justice issues; and interconnections. Art is visual poetry, an expression of ideas which otherwise cannot be articulated by words alone."
Media: Pen & ink, watercolor/acrylic, charcoal, marker, mixed media, collage, digital media. Software: InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop. Clients include: Harcourt Brace, Crane & Co, Pangaia Magazine, Llewellyn Publications Worldwide, Gentle Wind Music, Sunstone Press, Bailey Arboretum & Chelsea Green.
