Lorre grew up in Indiana and was drawn to the arts at a very young age. Calligraphy, needle arts and performing arts were all great passions through her school years. A knowledge junkie, she has served as a librarian for 32 years developing skills in book arts along the way. The paper and fiber arts of current years are the result of decades of both formal instruction and self-teaching. She prefers processes that are manual, using equipment such as needles, hooks and scissors, paste, brushes and hand-applied media such as pastels. Her most recent work involves hand-loomed textiles that incorporate up to three dozen yarns.
