Artist Bio +

Michiko Kubotera was born in Kushiro, Hokkaido in Japan. After getting married, she moved to a south town near Kyoto and then near Tokyo. Michiko moved across the sea to the very culturally diverse suburb of Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1989. She finally settled in a more northern and quieter town of Delmar, New York in 1996. A large variety of the different cultures she has experienced and the various people she has met.

Michiko graduated from Hokkaido Sapporo Otani Gakuen College in Art Education. She finished with an Associate degree from Hudson Valley Community College then graduated from the University at Albany with a Bachelor degree in Fine Art.
